Happy January everyone! Quick note here –
Remember those super awesome, super great Defeet Dura Wool gloves that I’ve been going on about for awhile? Well, they’re in and ready to go!
Email – email@example.com to order!
Yo! Join us Sunday Nov. 30, 2014 for the series party at Angry Bear Kitchen. Meet us there at 5pm and hang out till 8pm. We’ll be doing series overalls for each category in between sometime. But mostly we’ll just be hanging out, sipping some beers and high-fiving over what an awesome CX season we had.
Run down –
Cap City Cross will be providing beer for FREE! Angry Bear is opening up it’s bar and staffing a bartender to serve us. They will also provide some communal poutine but you’re encouraged to bring some snacky type foods to share.
Please remember, TIP YOUR BARTENDER.
See you Sunday.
Big thanks to everyone that braved the cold and came out to Infirmary Mound to send the 2014 series off with a bang! The Ohio Cup, mixed with some folks battling for series overall points, led to some great racing. Paradise Garage Racing didn’t spare a straight, a turn, or a camber in creating a viciously challenging course. Those that decided to double up appeared to be broken, wasted and lost following the second race.
All in good training, eh?
Here are the results for the final race – https://www.usacycling.org/results/?permit=2014-3105
As for the series wrap up party, mark you calendars for November 30, 2014. More information will be posted as soon as the plans are finalized. We will be meeting at Angry Bear Kitchen. The guys that own the place have opened the doors and will be providing some poutine for all. If you’d like to bring some shareable snack food or a tasty entree, feel free to add to the potluck. Columbus Brewing Company will be providing beer and the bar will be open (not free).
Don’t forget – TIP YOUR BARTENDER

Lastly, I’d like to shout out to our sponsors/clubs. They deserve a giant hand for supporting and making our series go around.
First off Brioso Coffee and Paradise Garage for being our biggest supporters, helpers and sponsors! I know most of you have checked them out, but continue to do so. Thank them when you see ’em.
Secondly, Columbus Brewing Company and Zeroz Wallets! Westerville Bike Shop and Angry Bear Kitchen (#poweredbypoutine). Yellow Brick Pizza, Roll Bikes! Was great to see Papa John’s of Central Ohio get involved with some free pies for volunteers and some rad podium schwag.
And THE clubs – Paradise Garage Racing! Lady Gnar Shredders! Team Jeni’s! Cap CIty-Brioso Cycling! They make the series go, so next time you see someone from one of those clubs be sure to thank them for their help and support.
Lastly thank YOU, the racers and spectators. This is all done for the racers. So thanks for coming out week after week. We all (clubs, sponsors, volunteers) appreciate the dedication to making local racing important and we can’t grow with out you.
See you at the party!
Thanks to everyone that came out and checked us out at Smith Farms last Saturday! The fall weather continues to avoid Cap City Cross races and we keep getting blessed with beautiful fall weather!
Big thanks to Team Jeni’s for putting on the event and setting up a drag race of a cyclocross course!

Updated overall results will be posted shortly!
Upon request from a number of racers, we are going to counting the four (4) best of five (5) races for the overalls.
Up next? The classic venue of Infirmary Mound in Granville Ohio! This dates back to one of Cap City Cross’s original venues. It features a little bit of everything, but not too much of one thing. Expect some rolling terrain, off cambers and fast racing.
Registration ends Nov. 13 at 11:45pm. Get registered here – https://www.bikereg.com/cap-city-cross-infirmary-mound
Thanks y’all, see ya soon!
Hello everyone. I apologize dearly for the lack of web updates over the past week.
I noticed quite a few Cap City-ers at the Cincinnati Cyclocross Festival last weekend. It seemed (of those I spoke with anyway) that everyone enjoyed the tougher courses and stiffer competition.
With that behind us, we look forward to the fourth stop in this year’s Cap City Cross series at Smith Farms presented by Team Jeni’s.
Oh yes! A race in mid-November race put on by a club that is supported by the best ice cream in Columbus. Word on the street is that they’ll be some chilly sweets for prizes!
Standard series information applies, but if you have any questions feel free to contact us. We have ample room for motorhomes at this venue, so planning ahead with us isn’t necessary.
PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR NUMBERS! Registration works will check them.
Oh, you can also preregister here – https://www.bikereg.com/cap-city-cross-4
Can’t think of anything else, but if I do, it will be updated here.
See you (non) jerks Saturday!
Thanks to everyone that preregistered for Lobdell Frisbee CX. Just wanted to shoot out a quick update about the weekend –
As always, registration closes fifteen minutes prior to posted race time. We will do our best to have registration open 8:30 for the men’s category 4/5 race at 10am. If you’re racing any other category try and allow the 4/5 men ahead of you. We will be accepting cash or credit/debit transactions this weekend.
Parking will be tight, please follow all our volunteers directions and they’ll get you situated.
Lobdell Staging – Here is a link for staging. We did staging based on CrossResults.com points for preregistered riders. All others will be staged in order of day of registration.
Directions – Lobdell Frisbee Course
Thanks again and see you all Sunday!
The numbers that you were issued at Big Run Fun CX were the numbers you will be using for the entire series. We were very thorough with riders at registration. Do not forget that number this weekend at Lobdell Frisbee CX, or any other Cap City race this season.
Preregistration also closes at 10pm TONIGHT – http://www.bikereg.com/lobdellfrisbeeCX
Get in there! See ya Sunday.
Hello all! Happy Tuesday.
Thanks to everyone that came out for what is possibly my favorite Cap City Cross venue! We were glad to see everyone after three weeks with out any local racing.
Here’s some results for ya – https://www.usacycling.org/results/?permit=2014-3243
Here’s some photos for ya – https://www.flickr.com/photos/108988395@N05/sets/72157648249757039/
Most everyone heard that Scott Young took a pretty hard spill but he’s been released from the hospital and is home healing. Send some PMA his way and wish him a quick and full recovery.
Next up – Lobdell Frisbee CX
Get preregistered now – https://www.bikereg.com/lobdellfrisbeecx
Info on the course –
We all know the Lobdell Frisbee course pretty well, right? Three tiers, short little kickers, some twists and turns and a sweeping fast descent. Pretty straight forward. Over the years Lobdell Frisbee has been largely non-technical so expect much of the same. We will have double sided pits but there will be NO running water so please plan accordingly.
Here’s some directions for you – https://www.google.com/maps/place/Lobdell+Reserve+Disc+Golf+Coursefirstname.lastname@example.org,-82.600608,15z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0xff33c4cb4f02cb72
It’s looking like a wet start to the week but should be drying up quite a bit. I’d anticipate a dryer course, especially on the on the second and third tiers.
Kids Race- Booya! The separate kids course was a hit! We’ll plan on the same thing this weekend, with kids fun laps at 12:15! Bring the kids! Let them shred!
See y’all this weekend!
Thanks to everyone that preregistered.
Quick reminder that there is NO late registration fee, however we are only accepting square credit/debit payments at the venue. We are unable to accept cash/checks in order to comply with the city. We apologize in advance.
Quick reminders –
Registration closes in just over 15 hours, so plenty of time to get in there. Reminder that call ups for this race are based on Ohio CX Cups standings for all preregistered riders. Day of registrants will be staged in order of registration.
Second! Course preview? Well, we never REALLY know until we are out there and putting stakes in the ground but I have a rough idea of how it’s going to be laid out.
Notice there are PITS! and PLANKS! and all kinds of fun stuff. ALSO note there is a road and that the course cuts that road FOUR times. There’s also a kids course for the funnest, fastest laps at 12:15pm. Bring the little ones, they too shall braaap.
We will have volunteers at each course crossing to ensure the safety of the riders. Please acknowledge and obey all volunteer’s directions. Thanks a whole bunch!
To reiterate one more thing here, please email or call Spencer if you are planning on attending with an RV or large van. We are running a pretty tight parking area and will be able to accommodate if we know in advance. Please tell your friends/family/loved ones if they plan on attending.
We do not have running water or access to power washers in the pits, please plan accordingly.
Ohh boy! The stoke is rising! See ya out there this weekend!
