The time to announce the 2008 Cap City Cyclocross series has come! (cue thunder and and loud wolves howling.) We've got many new bags of tricks up our sleeves this year. Are you ready? Can you taste the excitement?

1. Trek Store Columbus has signed on to be the ultimate mega title sponsor of our series. What does that mean for you? First, excellent support. We'll have a mechanic and repair tent at every race for quick tube changes or finicky derailleur adjustment or to just shoot the ship about the latest Trek bike gossip. Second. A bicycle raffle! That's right grand champion winner of the raffle this year will walk home with a brand new Trek cyclocross bike! Amazing. Eat your heart out Bob Barker. Third, with the great support of Trek Store Columbus we'll be able to host better races for you. Fun stuff.
2. Leader's Jerseys for the studettes and studs! Fine purveyor of custom cycling clothing, Champion Systems, is supplying us with leaders jerseys for the women's and men's overall leader in the 1/2 field. How cool is that!?!? I'm sure we'll be getting all the big talent coming to our events now.
3. Golden Tickets! We'll be passing out special Golden Tickets to die hard cross fans throughout Ohio to spread the good word about Cap City Cross. What's a Golden Ticket? Well, traditionally it gets you and your grandfather a trip to the Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory but if that doesn't work it allows you and a few friends to race for dirt cheap at one of our events. We know you love cross and here's a thumbs up from us.
4. Awesome courses. Good races. Many other awesome sponsorships that we'll announce in the coming months.

9/13 Cap City #1 - Infirmary Mound Park in Licking County
Hosted by Alan Racing, the opening event will be one of the best courses you've ever scene. EVER.
9/27 Cap City #2 - Alum Creek State Park Beach Bonanza
Once again Echelon and Trek Store Columbus will be returning to the beach. If the Beach Boys where into Iron Maiden and German 80's techno they'd would have taken a time machine to 2008 and race this great venue.
10/4 Cap City #4 –Lobdell Park Awesome Course
Team Awesome returns to the course that makes them famous. Expect another creamy layout from the Jeni's Ice Cream team.
10/19 Cap City #3 - Lobdell Frisbee Park in Licking County
New host Ridley Bicycles is stepping up to supply action at the Frisbee Golf mecca of Licking County. Bring your bike and your Frisbee for double crazy action (not really). Don't miss this awesome course.
11/1 Cap City #5 - Team Awesome Columbus
When they're not busy downing beers at Tip Top Café or eating sundaes at Jeni's this team dreams cross racing. Expect a beautiful course for this downtown showdown.
11/9 Cap City #6 - John Bryan State Park
The boys at Biowheels practically invented cross in Ohio and they're taking it to new heights at this historic stomping ground.
11/23 Cap City #7 - Lane Rd - State Champs
The grand finale. (cue man with deep voice) The day marked with red pen in your calendar. Its show time. The Ohio State Championships. The season closer will be an epic suburban battle. (Aren't they always?) Don't miss this party, I mean bike race hosted by Echelon Cycling team.
11/28 Grand Champion Awards Party
Lets get to the point. This is why we race. To head to a great bar, TIP TOP CAFE and drink great beverages. We'll have an awesome party again this year with a raffle FOR A NEW BIKE! Awards galore, tons of fun food, more then a few frothy beverages and smelly men. Awesome.
